Holocaust Torah Scroll

In 1983, our congregation was entrusted with a Torah scroll on permanent loan from the Memorial Scrolls Trust in London. It is one of over 1,500 Torah scrolls that were collected at the Jewish Museum in Prague during the Nazi occupation of Bohemia and Moravia in Czechoslovakia during WWII. Our scroll comes from the town of Kardasova Recice in Czechoslovakia.

As the caretakers of their scroll, our congregation honors the memory of the people of Kardasova Recice and of all those who lost their lives during the Holocaust.
