COVID Precautions and Protocols

While we are hopeful that we are seeing the winding down of precautions to deal with COVID-19 we still must deal with the virus a bit longer and need to keep all members of our community as safe as possible. For this reason we continue to closely monitor the news coming out of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Our Board’s stated policy is that we will observe the guidelines and mandates from the CDC. We will state those rules which we have instituted on this page, and we will update that information as the situation evolves and changes.

Therefore, we ask everyone to observe the following rules:

1. Based on current CDC recommendations, and the risk level in Bucks County specifically, wearing a mask will be optional for indoor events at Temple Judea. Masks are recommended indoors for those who are immunocompromised or at higher risk for severe illness. Knowing that there will be immunocompromised or high-risk congregants at the synagogue for any particular event, all are welcome to wear masks.

2. We continue to encourage everyone to be vaccinated, but we will not be asking for proof of vaccinations.

3. We encourage social distancing for non-family groups by staggering chairs three feet apart and spacing out tables.

4. Outdoor activities at Temple Judea will not require masks.

5. If you or someone in your household has COVID, please do not attend any events at the synagogue until you have been cleared by a medical professional. Also, please inform us so that we may notify the community who may have been in contact with you, but we will keep your name strictly private.

6. Food indoors: As noted above, based on current guidance, food, eating, and food preparation will be permitted in the building. It is still recommended that meals be eaten in a space with good air circulation and spacing of seats/tables to reduce the risk of spread.

As the CDC guidelines change our protocols may be adjusted. We would note that the CDC guidelines are general, and that our local situation may require more, or less, stringent rules as we move through the year. In addition, because children and adults have different considerations, Small Wonders and the Religious School may adopt additional rules, as their situations dictate. Our goal will always be to keep our congregation as safe as possible, while still building a community promoting learning and friendships.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

For Religious School students, please see this additional information on COVID Precautions and Protocols.
