Temple Judea a Bet Tefillah

Shabbat Services

Temple Judea is a house of worship.  Our prayer book, Mishkan Tefillah ...invites familiarity, even as it allows for diversity.   Our worship services bind us to God and to each other. Each month provides opportunities for communal prayer:   Friday evening and Saturday morning Shabbat services, Family services, Tot Shabbat programs, special Shabbat dinners and festival and Holy Day services.   Be sure to check the calendar for special events and holiday schedules.

Erev Shabbat Services begin at 7:30 p.m. (except for the third Friday of each month or where otherwise noted on the calendar).   Our Oneg Shabbat following services offers an opportunity to enjoy light refreshment and socialize.

Tot Shabbat, a short service geared to children under 5 years of age, takes place several times a year on Friday evening at 6:00 or 6:30pm   (This program will be followed by the regular service at 7:30 p.m.)

Family Shabbat Services, one-hour services designed for families with elementary school age children, are held the third Friday evening of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Shabbat Morning begins with Torah study at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Shabbat Morning Service at 10:30.   Join us as we "read between the lines" of Torah and explore the roots of our Jewish heritage with lively discussion led by Rabbi Bogosian.

Summer Shabbats at the Lake:  Join us for an informal Shabbat service by beautiful Lake Galena in Peace Valley Park, Pavillion 5.  We will have Shabbat dinner together starting at 6:15pm followed by a Shabbat service at 6:45pm. Bring your picnic dinner and romp and pray with us rain or shine!

Learning Services: No matter where you came from or how you got here...if you feel slightly uncomfortable about participating in a worship service, or you would just like to learn more about it... or if you've ever asked "what does it all mean?"...

If you've ever opened a siddur (Jewish prayer book) and wondered what the Hebrew meant, or thought to yourself, why do we bow during certain prayers and not others? If you thought a prayer might sound familiar, and wondered why we sing/chant in a different way at Temple Judea? If you have wondered why we sometimes stand and sometimes sit during our worship services…we invite you to come and learn and pray with us!

These services are held on most Wednesdays at 6pm when religious school is in session.  Please check the calendar for specific dates.
